Breakfast.
Eight to Ten minutes walk from
the Dolphin Square is the Caravan Restaurant, which is owned an operated by

food is delicious, it is served hot and fantastic value. Try the A'la Tony, or

hurry, it takes ages to pay the bill and he ALWAYS gives you a drink on the
house. NB. Breakfasts are good as well from 9.00. am.

Olive is a Traditional Greek

also very reasonably priced. I love it, it's different.
If you are staying over in the Psalidi area of
Kos Town, it is located near to the Niredes Hotel and just past The Alexandra
Beach Hotel. It is right on the sea front on the main road from Kos to
Psalidi. The Europe Bar is run by Liza from Coventry, and they have a
Greek/Aussie waitress called Irene and she is very friendly, helpful and
efficient, as are all the staff. They serve all types of food, traditional
Greek, English, pastas etc. They have plenty of entertaiment to keep you

can stay at the Hotel Tripolitis on Pserimos. The business in owned and run by
Nikos and Anna, and they are great and really look after you. Give them a call
on the telephone and you can book a double room for about 15/20 euros a night.
There are no roads on Pserimos and it has a great safe sandy beach which the
children will love. After about 4.00.pm when all the day trip boats have left,
it is very quite so you can really relax and have a meal in the Taverna. One
to get there is to take THE KATERINA BOAT and ask
George the Captain if he will drop you off in Pserimos and then you can get
the boat back in 2 or 3 days time.
This is the best shop in Kos to
get ALL your Jewellery. They are very honest and reliable and stay open all
the year round and have been trading since 1980.
BAR STREET AND HARBOUR AREA.
The
harbour is very pretty at night with all the lights on the boats etc. A Tip
- be careful when you visit the bars as you will pay a fair bit more for
your drinks, and you sometimes get 330ml bottles for the same price as 500ml
bottles which are sold in the bars and restaurants away from the
harbour. Having said that it is nice to sit in a bar down by the harbour and
watch the world go by. Try my friend at THE FLAMINGO BAR which is situated
about 30 meters from The Dolphin Roundabout. It is the bar opposite where
THE KATERINA docks.

There are two Water Parks (Aquaparks )

KOS TOWN, behind The RAMIRA BEACH Hotel. ( I THINK
THE SHAPE IS NOW CLOSED )
The LIDO WATER PARK

square meters and is open from 10.00.am till 7.00.pm

OTHER THINGS TO DO IN KOS
TOWN.
Take a trip on one or both of the 'Noddy'
trains. The GREEN one goes around the town pointing out the various sites
etc.an it departs from KOS Town harbour, and the BLUE one goes up to
THE ASKLIPIEIO, and that one departs from opposite the Police Station. Make
sure that you find a seat which faces the direction that you are going as
the commentary tells you that the ?????? is on your left etc., but if you
are sitting with your back to the Noddy Train it gets confusing as you keep
looking on the wrong side and then you have missed them.
PLAKA - VISIT
THE PEACOCKS
I am not too sure how you spell it, but if you
are driving FROM Kos Town past the AIRPORT there is a wire fence on the left
around the airport parameter, on the RIGHT you will come to a small turning
tp PLAKA by a small blue and white building, go down the road through the
wooded area and you will come to a picnic area where you can have a barbecue
and feed the PEACOCKS.
EMPROS THERMA
Get yourself a Jeep from M.L.Rentacar and
explore, try the EMPROS THERMA, you can get into the sea and the temperature
is around 70 degrees, it is just like having a hot bath. It is volcanic and
they say that it is very good for ALL skin complaints and joints. In my
opinion it is best to visit before 10.00.am or after 6.00.pm as it gets very
busy during the day. You can catch a number 5 bus from Kos Town Harbour, I
think that it departs at a quarter to the hour every hour and takes about 15
/ 20 minutes. Some people complain that it SMELLS, come on it IS VOLCANIC
what do they expect!
LIMINONAS
Situated down by KEFELOS you will find the
small beach called LIMINONAS, it also has a very good Restaurant of the same
name, and it has a great name for serving very good fish. NOTE - The
Restaurant does NOT open until about 11.30.am.
ZIA
Zia is a village situated in the mountains,
about a half hour drive from Kos Town. It is a nice place to visit even
though it is like a large tourist shop. I think that is is a good place to
visit in the evening as you can see fantastic sunsets over Turkey. My
friends restaurant is called OREMEDON and it has a roof garden, it is the
first one on the right after you have passed the wall when you enter Zia. On
Sunday lunchtime they serve Traditional Roast Goat, which is similar to Lamb
but a lot healthier.
